Wolsey Church Meets their Missionary
by Karen Holmes
On Sunday December 10th, First Baptist Church of Wolsey was able to speak with the IMB missionary family that is assigned to them. Cameron and Whitney Aanestad and their 3 girls Kjirsten, Celia and Thea. They are originally from Southern California, but have been serving with the IMB in Oslo Norway for 2 years. We were able to hear how the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering (LMCO) helps them in their work to plant churches that plant churches that plant churches.
The International Mission Board has started an effort to connect each Southern Baptist Church with one of our IMB missionaries in the field. If you do not know which missionary family has been assigned to your church, you can find out by contacting the IMB at www.imb.org.
In our church, we also have a Christmas tree. For every offering given to the Christmas offering, folks are able to put a red ornament on the tree. The LMCO provides about one half of the budget annually to the International Mission Board.
Karen Holmes and her husband Chip serve at First Baptist in Wolsey, SD and Western Way Cowboy Church in Huron, SD. Karen is also the recording secretary for the DBC and a CP Ambassador for her church.
