Josh Brown joins Dakotas CRM team

Josh Brown, the lead pastor for Redeeming Grace Church in Rapid City, joined the Dakota Baptist Convention staff as a Church Relations Missionary (CRM) on January 1. He replaces Matt Price, former pastor at Connection Church in Sturgis, SD. Price and his wife Missy moved to Missouri at the end of 2024 to begin an internship with Freeway Ministries.

Brown has been married for nineteen years to Brie. They have  five children: Micah, Elijah, Lydia, Bianca, and Norah.

Brown, a South Dakota native, graduated from Rapid City Christian School in 2001. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Grace University in Omaha and an M.Div. from Midwestern Baptist Seminary in Kansas City.

In addition to serving as the original planter and pastor of Redeeming Grace Church, Brown recently completed his second term as president of the DBC. He also currently serves as the moderator for the Black Hills Area Baptist Association. Prior to starting the church, he spent seven years as the youth and children’s pastor at South Canyon Baptist Church in Rapid City. Before that he was the Student Ministries Pastor for LifeSpring Church of Bellevue, NE from 2008-2013.

As a CRM, Brown will serve churches, pastors, church leaders, and associations by fostering connections with one another and with the DBC. He will reach out, in particular, to pastors and churches in the southwestern part of South Dakota to provide encouragement and resources to help accomplish their mission.

DBC Executive Director Fred MacDonald said he is excited to have Brown as part of the CRM team. “In a lot of ways, Josh has already been functioning as a CRM to his brother pastors of the Black Hills.” MacDonald continued, “He has been reaching out to them on his own for years to provide encouragement and has regularly hosted a lunch for the pastors.”

Brown joins CRMs Ian Harp, Everett Hornbostel, and Paul Young and evangelism intern Segun Adeyemo on the ministry staff of the Dakotas.
