DBC Pastor Receives Student of the Year Award

In February Pastor Billy Keeble (Bethany Baptist Church: Enemy Swim, SD) received notification that he would receive the Student of the Year Award for the 2022-2023 Academic Year from Sisseton Wahpeton College.

An email notification of the award stated, “The American Indian College Fund is excited to let you know that the Leadership and Financial Aid Team at Sisseton Wahpeton College selected you to receive our Student of the Year award for the 2022-2023 academic year. Congratulations!”

The Student of the Year Award aims to recognize academic achievement, community involvement, and commitment to excellence and growth of an outstanding scholar at each tribal college/university.

Billy traveled to Albuquerque, New Mexico in March to receive the award.

At the May 2023 graduation ceremony at the Sisseton Wahpeton College, Billy was presented with a Star Quilt and given the opportunity to speak to the current graduates of the college.
