Dakotans Prepare to Return to South Africa

Five individuals from three different DBC churches will travel to South Africa towards the end of October. Todd & Janet Olson (Edgemont, SD: Edgemont Baptist), Paul Young (Fort Totten, ND: Dakota Baptist), and Fred & Denise MacDonald (Rapid City, SD: Hills of Grace Fellowship) will leave on October 25 to continue a partnership that began seven years ago.

The team will partner with Julius & Cintia Mbu and Segun & Funmi Adeyemo to conduct two major training events and a two-day shepherd’s retreat. The training events will be in Pretoria and Cape Town. A total of about 150 pastors, pastor’s wives, and other church leaders are expected at training events that will focus on spiritual disciplines and practical ministry.

In between the two events, four other ministry couples from different countries in Africa will join the entire team for a short retreat. The retreat will focus on marriage enrichment, fellowship, and encouragement.

Olson, Young, and MacDonald will preach in churches in Pretoria and Cape Town on the two Sundays that they are there.

The team is scheduled to arrive back in the U.S. on Monday, November 6.
