CP Ambassadors Hold First 2023 Zoom

The Dakota Baptist CP Ambassadors met for the first time in the new year last month. Dr. Jeff Iorg, president of Gateway Seminary, was the guest.

CP Ambassadors are members of DBC churches that have an interest in learning more about the cooperative work that Dakota Baptists do throughout North and South Dakota and around the world with other Southern Baptist churches. The group meets monthly on Zoom and once a year in person. In these meetings they receive information and resources to share with their churches about this work. They also get to meet leaders of various Southern Baptist entities.

Dr. Iorg shared how students of Southern Baptist churches receive a large tuition break because of the Cooperative Program. He also shared about the ways Southern Baptists make a difference in the world by training future generations of pastors, missionaries, and Christian leaders. Gateway Seminary, located in Ontario, California, is one of six Southern Baptist seminaries supported by the Cooperative Program.

Next month’s meeting will be on the morning of Tuesday, February 28 at 10:00 mountain time. The guest will be Chris Martin. Martin is transitioning from his role as executive director for the Hawaii Baptist Convention to a role with the International Mission Board.

Each Dakota Baptist church is invited to designate a CP ambassador to take part in these gatherings. If your church would like to designate an ambassador, send their name and contact information to Fred MacDonald at fred@dakotabaptist.com.
